Cecil Beaton in elegant early-1920s drag, whilst at Cambridge, wearing a very large hat and glancing to one side. Every detail of costume, hair, maquillage and accessories are as perfect as one might expect from someone who would become an arbiter of fashion and taste later in the twentieth century. This is female impersonation of a professional and 'passing' level. (James Gardiner)
Part of James Gardiner Collection: photograph album labelled ‘Drag’.
