Nick Metcalf is an American Indian Two-Spirit person born and raised on the Rosebud Reservation located in South Dakota. At the time of this interview, Metcalf was working in the Twin Cities. In this oral history they talk about their early childhood on the reservation and later moving to Minneapolis in 1994. They talk extensively about working in care for people with HIV and promoting HIV-awareness, as well the people they worked with at an organization called Minnesota Men of Color. They also talk about the American Indian Movement and Two-Spirit organizing and community-building across North America. Lastly, they share their thoughts on the political future for trans organizing.
