Mara Keisling is a white transgender woman from Pennsylvania. At the time of this interview, Keisling was the Executive Director at the National Center for Transgender Equality. In this oral history, Keisling speaks at length about her family relationships, naming, the National Center for Transgender Equality, and the importance of trans people working in government. She also touches upon the Fantasia Fair conference in 1996, the Southern Comfort Conference in 1998, and the federal administration of the United States of America.
