Six of the seven sailors are in drag, with a military man in the centre. A concert party on board ship. Royal Marines (?) as a Pierrette troupe on board H.M.S. St. Vincent. 'The Great Casimir' was a musical play by Henry Sambrooke Leigh (1837-1883) and Charles Lecocq; it was first produced at the Gaiety theatre, London, on 27 September 1879
