Denville. Stock Company. The man from Toronto
Actors posing for an apparent publicity shot. Members of the popular touring Denville Stock Company in a production shot for 'The man from Toronto', a popular comedy in three acts by Douglas Murray, first performed in 1919. The 'Dame' character is played by an unidentified character placed second from right. A high quality commercially produced publicity postcard. The postcard as a means of advertising theatre productions had been well exploited since the early days of postcard publishing in the 1900s.
Part of James Gardiner Collection: photographs of military, naval, and prisoner-of-war camp drag.
