"Daytimers" double-act in drag. Process print, 197-.
Daytimers, female impersonators. Telephone:- Glossop 64912
Two actors in drag wearing adorned dresses and large styled hair for publicity material. The two actors are inset dressed as themselves in circular portraits. A 1970s publicity flier for 'The Daytimers' showing an early example of what became typical 'drag' style in Great Britain at the end of the twentieth century. The exaggerated bouffant hair and heavy make-up are a compromise between the over-blown and exaggerated grotesqueness of the pantomime Dame, and the 'passing' glamour of the female impersonator (James Gardiner)
Part of James Gardiner Collection: photograph album labelled ‘Drag’.
