Twig grew up in Hayes, KS, lived in Portland, OR, and then settled in rural NM where he lived at the time of the interview. Twig is a writer and the producer of the Queer Country Roadshow which took place in Madrid, NM in 2013.

Twig discusses growing up in rural Kansas, coming out as bi, then lesbian, then transgender, living in Portland, Oregon, and returning to country living when he moved to rural New Mexico. He also discusses his attachment to rural living, what queer family looks like to him, his writing heroes, and his hopes for creating a traveling Queer Country Roadshow in the future.
