Ty Yule is a white trans man. In life, Yule has spent time in the Midwest (in Iowa and Minnesota) and in California (in Apple Valley and San Francisco). In this interview, Yule touches upon topics such as passing and adversity, coalition building, gay marriage, and assimilation. He also shares his experiences with queer organizing and activism in San Francisco during the 1990s. Lastly, Yule talks extensively about the work he and co-owner Benny Benson put into establishing Pi Bar, a dyke bar located in Minneapolis.
