Ellie Krug is a white trans woman from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In this oral history interview, she discusses her childhood, family, and relationships, her memoirs and experiences of transition, her thoughts on trans representation and visibility and representation, and her work in legal services. Specifically, Krug discusses coming of age "before Stonewall," her memoir Getting to Ellen, her thoughts on trans actors and representation in popular media, and her co-founding of Call for Justice, a legal services nonprofit serving low-income clients in Minneapolis.
