Amanda is a white trans woman. At the time of this interview, Amanda was living in Ellendale, Minnesota. In this oral history, Amanda discusses her experiences of gender non-conformity in the years before WWII in rural Minnesota, her experiences with gender affirming medical care in the 1950s and 1960s, and the community of trans women in Minneapolis in the mid-Twentieth Century.
