Te Papa is Aotearoa New Zealand’s national museum, the successor to an institution founded in 1865. It holds material covering the cultural, social and natural history of Aotearoa and the Pacific. It works to uphold the mana of our cultures and communities, strengthen New Zealanders’ sense of belonging and identity, and help us all care for our environment.
