Rebecca Kling is a white trans woman from Chicago, Illinois. In this oral history interview, she discusses her childhood and college years, her transition, and her work within Camp Aranu'tiq and the trans activist movement at large. Specifically, Kling discusses learning about trans identity online in the 1990s and the narratives that impacted her decision to transition, her work with the host committee for Creating Change in Chicago and with Camp Aranu'tiq, a camp for trans and gender variant young people based in New Hampshire and California, and her thoughts on trans representation in popular culture.
